HYDCO Make and Break provides a safe alternative to Drillers and offsiders when breaking drill rod joints. Incidents continue to occur where hand tools, particularly ‘stilsons’ and other types of wrenches are being used inappropriately.

This dangerous activity is eliminated when using the HYDCO Make and Break by mechanically breaking the rod joint.

The HYDCO Make and Break can be custom made to size required

Integral clamping cylinders provide between 2900 kgmm2 to 4175 kgmm2 clamping force, applied to easily substitutable jaw plates to provide safe and secure joint clamping.

Modular design allows for many different mast applications to suit a varied range of drill rigs.  High breaking torque is achieved via simple rotation methods.  Simple design allows for adjustability of diameter range and ease of maintenance.

Supplied double (one fixed module, one rotating module) mounted to single plate with clamping and rotating cylinders only and one set of jaw plates.

                  8" and 9" systems   (204mm and 229mm)

Diameter range:      

Rod size 4" through to 9".  Four sets of jaws required.

                          Hammer size as above

                          Pass over 8 and 9 inches respectively.
